1. MINUTES

The President – Professor McClelland called the 72nd Annual General Meeting to order and read & signed the Minutes of the Executive Committee held on 2nd June 2023.

2. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE 2023 MEETING

It was noted that apologies had been received from Mr Stephens and he was unable to attend today due to medical reasons.

Ms Catriona Heaver  was welcomed to the Executive Committee by Mr McClelland   & the new Lapel pins were distributed to the committee members.

Following on from last year when Chris Oliver kindly started work on the social media side of things,  It was agreed that we need someone to continue his work.  It was therefore  decided to invite Will Gibson to join the Executive committee as IT Lead, an invitation will be issued to Mr Gibson in due course.

It was noted that attendance figures at our annual meetings are still rather low and the executive committee looked at ways of boosting membership numbers and attendance.

Upon referring to the Clubs Constitution and the section on Eligibility for membership, it was noted that it was rather out of date with present times and that the eligibility of “Visiting Consultant Staff” should be changed to  “all Orthopaedic/medical consultants working at the RJAH”.  It was decided that locum consultants should been in post for 12 months to qualify.

An invitation to join will be sent to all consultants & trainees working or that have worked at the RJAH that aren’t presently members.

It was also suggested that a membership form be added to the OSBONE website in order for trainees to join more easily

3. OBITUARIES

8. ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2025 MEETING

The date of next years meeting is Friday 6th June 2025. Venue: it was decided to look into booking the Sweeney Hall  Hotel again,  depending upon guest numbers and if it’s available the Garden Room may be suitable, otherwise the Netherton suite which was where we were moved to this year as attendance numbers were low.
